Terry Lynn was born in 1975 in Memphis and grew up in Arlington. In 1993 he began showing his paintings at Gestine Art gallery on Beale street. He enrolled in architectural technology before studying for a BFA at the University of Memphis. He received a BFA in 2001. Terry collaborates on art with his twin Jerry under the signature "Twin". His twin brother and he have been collected worldwide, and shown in many solo and group exhibitions.
Terry Lynn has used art scuplture, painting and installations to explore the complexity between art and life. " Art is life, and life is art," Terrys art challenges contemporary tradional belief systems.
Terry developed his interest in exploring creatively as a teenager working as a laborer with his brick mason grandfather. He develpoded a painterly stroke from working with his father's painting and construction business. " I learned the value of hard work and a work ethic at a very young age....I spent hours practicing and improving my craft," His work reflects the narratives as it relates to the contemporary.
